Eric Blum has dedicated over 15 years to shaping and advancing healthcare across Western Canada, especially in sleep and psychiatry. From founding clinics to designing innovative programs, his leadership is grounded in impact.
Clinical Leadership
Eric founded five accredited clinics across Alberta, most recently The Sleep & Wake Clinic. With programs including the first ADHD, Insomnia, and now Narcolepsy Group Therapy programs. Also, CPSA-compliant sleep labs, served as Privacy Officer, and led operations with a focus on clinical excellence and accessibility.
Tech-Driven Solutions
Built smart-intake systems for sleep and psychiatric care using PHP, Java, and Azure. Eric also customized LimeSurvey to streamline workflows, combining technical skill with deep clinical healthcare insight.
Research Collaboration
Led clinical trials in partnership with Jazz Pharmaceuticals and Eisai Pharmaceuticals, advancing real-world research in patient care and health innovation.
Personal Resilience: The Turning Point
In 2007, Eric survived a life-threatening rollover accident — ejected at over 120 km/h. He endured 17 surgeries and spent nearly five years rebuilding his body, mind, and life.
This experience shaped everything. Eric approaches healthcare with rare empathy and insight — not just as a leader, but as someone who has lived on the other side of the system.
This lived experience fuels the vision for ClaraWell — a digital assistant that simplifies care while honoring the humanity of every patient it supports.
