The Inception of Godly Labs Inc.: A Vision for Technology-Driven Innovation
In January 2022, Godly Labs Inc. was officially launched with an ambitious mission: to harness the power of technology and create actionable solutions that bridge the present with the possibilities of the future. Founded by Eric Blum, Godly Labs, a Calgary-based startup is poised to explore the intersection of technology, healthcare, and innovation.
A Childhood Steeped in Technology and Finance
Eric Blum’s journey to founding Godly Labs Inc. begins in his childhood, where technology and curiosity were constants in his life. With a computer in his bedroom at the age of five, thanks to his father, Martin Blum, Eric was exposed to the possibilities of technology far ahead of his peers.
Martin, a health care technologist and now Chief Technology Officer of Godly Labs, introduced Eric to the fundamentals of coding, encouraging exploration and creativity. While technology was always within reach, Eric’s personal interests also leaned heavily toward finance and behavioral economics, inspired by books like The Intelligent Investor and Reminiscences of a Stock Operator.
Despite these dual passions, the rapid evolution of technology and its ability to solve real-world problems remained a constant force in Eric’s life. “Technology has always been there as a tool to answer questions and explore ideas,” Eric shares. This foundation would later converge with his professional experiences, culminating in the creation of Godly Labs Inc.
The Vision Behind Godly Labs
Godly Labs Inc. was conceived as an organized technological problem solver—one that would not only keep pace with the rapid advancements in technology but also use these tools to envision and build solutions for the future.
“The goal is to create a company that’s nimble, adaptable, and capable of tackling challenges across industries,” Eric explains. “It’s about identifying opportunities where technology can make a real difference, even as the world continues to evolve.”
The company is currently exploring opportunities in healthcare and integrated technologies, leveraging Eric’s expertise in finance, behavioral science, and startup culture to shape its approach.
Why Technology is the Core
As Eric observed the rapid acceleration of technological advancements, he realized the world was entering a new wave of ideas, capabilities, and interconnectedness. Technologies like AI, machine learning, blockchain, and neural networking were no longer isolated innovations—they were beginning to work together at a pace unseen in previous cycles.
“The coming century will belong to those who dare to think beyond what is known,” Eric asserts. “As the library of technology and its rapid accessibility becomes more and more prevalent, imagination will stand out as the defining factor of outliers—people impacting the future.”
For Eric, Godly Labs was about more than just following trends; it was about embracing the tools of the present to envision and build the world of tomorrow.
Building a Culture of Imagination and Integrity
From its inception, Godly Labs has been built on the principles of trust, integrity, imagination, and consistent learning. These values reflect Eric’s personal philosophy, inspired by his favorite quote from Albert Einstein: “Imagination is more important than knowledge.”
In the rapidly changing world of technology, imagination serves as the differentiator, enabling Godly Labs to envision possibilities that go beyond what’s trending. “Imagination is the spark that drives innovation,” Eric says. “It’s what will allow us to create meaningful solutions in a world full of information.”
A Promising Start
In its first months, Godly Labs is already exploring opportunities to integrate technology into meaningful solutions. From early partnerships in Calgary’s healthcare sector to foundational research in emerging technologies, the company is laying the groundwork for a future filled with possibility.
The journey ahead is clear: Godly Labs aims to stand out not by following trends, but by creating impactful solutions that combine present tools with future vision. “This is just the beginning,” Eric emphasizes. “The foundation we’re building today will allow us to grow, adapt, and innovate in ways that truly matter.”
